About

Meet The Artist

Welcome to my studio!  I’m Briana Fitzpatrick, a multidisciplinary artist creating work from a home in Upstate, New York (and eventually from a converted school bus!)

I believe my passion for the arts began at the age of 2. I had asked my mom to sign me up for dance classes. And for as long as I can remember, between dancing, training, and performing, I was always filling my spare time with painting, drawing, sewing, or anything that would give me the freedom to create!  It was at the age of 13 that I realized I wanted to pursue my passion for art and turn it into my profession, my lifestyle.

I’m currently embarked on a journey to discover how to coalesce various art disciplines (such as painting and dancing) to create a piece that conveys the beauty of movement and capture it on a canvas.  Through my artwork, I explore the themes of liveliness, boldness, and freedom.  My paintings are a whisper of heart, soul & imagination, inviting you to explore and discover hidden details.

Why do you create Art?

I create for the freedom to connect on a level far deeper than words can express. I believe art has a stronger meaning that welcomes us to freely express ourselves, to view things in a sensible perspective, and connect with each other in a more profound way.

For me painting is like a dance.  I find so much connection between painting and dancing.  I believe it’s, because of the rawness of self-expression and the honesty of vulnerability between both art forms.  When I perform, there is nowhere to hide, same goes for painting, every movement is captured on the canvas. I view the stage as my blank canvas, inviting me to share my light.  And with each step, breath, and movement I am building on the story I aspire to portray (like layers of paint).  And when I step foot off the stage is like when I finish my last brush stroke and step back from the canvas to see the final piece I created.  A piece that has captured a whisper of my heart & soul in the present moment of painting and/or performing.

My highest goal, in relationship to my artwork, is to create art that shines light in this world through the integration of multiple art forms that uniquely capture the beauty of movement and life, and to inspire others to embrace their light and pursue their passions & dreams.

What Inspires The Artwork?

Life is an adventure filled with an abundance of inspiration all around us. I am simply grateful to be alive, living and cherishing this wonderful journey of life. I find it to be compelling that we can utilize art as a means of self-discovery and an illustration of our imagination.

What Is Your Vision?

My mission is to creatively share my passions and expand myself as a multidisciplinary artist by consistently seeking inspiration and opportunities to connect with those around me, all the while being led by faith.

This is the core to my vision and down the road I aspire to travel and create out of my converted school bus (when it gets finished) to experience more of what life has to offer and connect with other artists, collectors, and communities.
