The Inspiration and Story Behind “Agape”

Briana has spent the past 8 months sketching 407 portraits to create “Agape” and she is overjoyed to finally share this masterpiece publicly with everyone! 

The inspiration behind “Agape” sparked from Bri wanting to create an artwork that would portray and share the beautiful message of God’s great love for each and every one of us, our love for Him, and our love for one another. 1 John 4:7-19.

Back in April Bri posted on social media that she would be creating a big artwork consisting of speed sketched portraits. She invited any of her followers to be apart of it and for them to send her photos of either themselves, family members, friends, pets, or their favorite animals. Briana was overwhelmed by the 600+ comments she received on her post and 100+ direct messages she got after it of people wanting to be apart of this big project. She wanted to give as many people as she possibly could the opportunity to be apart, but she knew she’d have to make a cut off in order to complete this project in time for the Reveal Date she set. So she decided that 407 would be the perfect number of portraits for this project since it’s inspired to share the message of 1 John 4:7.   Briana also asked the people apart of this piece to share their favorite Bible verses with her so she could write them on their portraits if they wanted. Collectively there are over 70 Bible verses written in “Agape”

Along with this project Bri wanted to break some boundaries, really challenge herself as an artist, and grow her skills. It’s common amongst artists to try and create work to sell, sell, sell to make ends meet, but Bri wanted to break away from that. She’s grateful for how God has blessed her with finances in other areas of her life, so with this project she wanted to offer the people apart of this, the opportunity to collect their personal original sketches for only $10 each. She believes there is so much to art than just making money. She wants to use the gifts God has given her to spread more love and light in this world. 💖💫
